Colton Lands a Big Largemouth on a FlipEm Baits Lure

The Catch
Every fisherman has that moment that reminds them why they spend hours on the water. For Colton, founder of FlipEm Baits, it came on a calm afternoon when the water was glassy, the air was cool, and the bass were hungry.
Armed with one of his own handcrafted jointed swimbaits, Colton launched his cast toward a shaded pocket near the weedline. The bait landed soft, sank just right, and on the first few turns of the reel handle — boom! The rod bent, drag slipped, and he knew instantly it was a good one.
The Fight
The bass surged deep, ripping toward cover, but Colton stayed patient and let the rod do its work. With steady pressure and a grin that wouldn’t quit, he brought the fish to hand — a largemouth bass worthy of the brag board.
“Catching a fish on your own bait just hits different,” Colton said afterward. “It proves the hours spent designing, painting, and testing really do pay off.”
Why It Matters
This wasn’t just another fish — it was proof of concept. Colton’s lures are built with attention to detail, designed to mimic the forage bass can’t resist. From the realistic paint patterns to the lifelike swimming action, every piece is tuned to perform on the water.
And when a bass of this size smashes a FlipEm Bait, it’s the ultimate feedback: the designs work.
What’s Next
Colton is continuing to refine his lineup — from swimbaits like this one to soft plastics and merch for anglers who want to represent the brand. Each catch adds more confidence and more fuel to keep building.
